Kynance Cottage, Recently Renovated, 5 Star

This property was below the standard expected Positive: The property was self catering. The surroundings were pleasant and peacefull Negative: The kitchen was a disaster with only one pot for the stove and nothing in the oven. The door to the freezer section of the fridge was broken and not fixed during my stay. A couple of dining chairs were unfit for use and dangerous. There was a power outage and the fusebox showed nothing wrong. A neighbour showed us an auxilliary box in the kitchen which was hidden behind a cupboard. There was nothing to indicate its existance. The owners demanded a payment of £200 for what they called a Damage Deposit 24hrs before the start of the holiday. It was eventualy repaid after chasing several weeks.

Positive: We liked the chalet, plenty of sleeping room for myself and family. Chalet was clean and tidy. The site staff are friendly and very helpful. Negative: The lounge area was a little crowded with 6 adults and 2 children. There wasn't enough seating to relax on in the evening. The stairs and outside lights weren't working.

Comfortable beds to crash out at night but could be better. Positive: Property was clean and Beds were clean and comfortable. Being at the end of the row of properties, it was in quiet surroundings. Host Jessica was very helpful in sorting out our minor issues. Milk in the fridge was a nice touch but Prosecco we left as we don't drink alcohol. Negative: Very very compact layout for 5 people. The max for this property is 9 persons and I don't see how that would work. For the price paid I expected more but sadly won't be staying here again. My fault for not reading description properly but needed a change of property at last minute. The photos attached to the property description at time of purchase is misleading because some of the photos depicted are of other properties on the site. There are things that need to be replaced/mended, such as the broken clothes rack, freezer door, creaking upstair doors. And the internet service needs looking at - Vodafone 4G service has poor streaming. The property being at the end of the site was quite a distance from the car parking area and not always able to get a spot closer - would have been useful during check in/check out.

Positive: Greeted on arrival, directions to the property was very clear. The house was lovely and clean with a nice welcoming gift. The location to visit all of Cornwall is great nothing is no further than 45mins to an hour. The on site facilities are spot on.
